Because piglets grow fast, and an average litter of piglets is about 10-13 piglets, the mother cannot produce enough milk to feed that many piglets, so they are weaned.

Will male pigs harm newborn piglets?

The males may not intentionally harm the piglets but may get a little aggressive and bite or step on the piglets. It is not recommended to keep a litter with the father and the mother as there are usually too many in a litter, space may become limited and they would be at greater risk of getting stepped or laid on. It is best to keep the mother in a medium sized pen, one that is big enough for the mother to lay down and not squish the babies, away from other larger pigs.

Why are baby cows kept apart?

In regards to those dairy calves that are taken away from their mothers when they are a day or two old, it's mostly so they don't suckle on each other. If they suckle on each other, that causes sores, hair loss and potential infection which would degrade the health of the calf being suckled on.

Why are white lions hunted?

White lions are currently endangered due to human hunting. They are hunted for their unique white fur. The problem has become so serious because hunters will take the babies away from their mothers so the mothers will immediately go into heat and produce more babies.

How do you get piglets on FarmVille to keep?

In order to receive piglets for keeps in FarmVille, your neighbor has to send them to you as a gift. Your neighbor will only be able to send piglets if they receive a pregnant sow. Pregnant sows seem to be distributed to farmers who stay away from the game for a few days.

How will the mother cat act after kittens are taken away?

This really depends what age the kittens were when they were taken away. If the kittens were taken too early (6 to 10 weeks old), she will most likely look everywhere for them and try to figure out why they have been taken away. Sadly, too many kittens are taken away from their mothers too early, usually around 6 to 8 weeks old (some kittens aren't even weaned properly at that age). They have had no chance to learn what behaviour is good or bad, and behavioral problems will become apparent as the kitten gets older which, often, are difficult to correct. Mother cats will teach them many things during 8 to 12 weeks, and by 12-13 weeks most kittens are independent enough to be taken away without too much stress from the kitten or the mother cat.

Do you use apostrophe or no for the date During the early 1900s to 1960s 100000 children of the Aboriginal descent were taken away from their families?

No. Dates (years) should never have an apostrophe. It is a common mistake for people to write years with an apostrophe. It should be written as: During the early 1900s to 1960s, 100 000 children of Aboriginal descent were taken away from their families.
