If they were metal and the live had somehow come loose and was touching the casing, it would make the plug case live too. However electricity does not flow through plastic because the electrons can't pass.
They are cheap to make and non-conductive.
That depends upon how neatly you paint. If you get paint inside the slots, it could interfere with the electrical connection that is supposed to be made when you insert a plug. If you only paint the outside and get no paint inside, then there is no effect on the functioning of the outlet.ANOTHER OPTION:Child proof plastic outlet covers can be painted over when painting the actual outlet. When you want to use the outlet, remove the plastic cover. When the outlet plug is not in use, insert the child proof plastic covers. The plastic cover will blend right in with the outlet cover plate. It looks very nice with Hammered Spray Paint!
The current flows through the cable of the plug, to whatever wants to be turned on.
Did you find out? I know they are plastic, but they can be made out of different types of plastic. I need to know what type. If I find more out, I will edit the answer again.
This question may be asking if it is safe to plug things into mains wall sockets if they have been left switched on with nothing plugged-in, and if it is safer to plug things in only after the sockets have been switched off? If, and only if, that is the meaning of this question, the answer is probably: It should not be dangerous to plug something into a switched-on socket but it is always a good idea - and safer - to switch off any socket before you plug anything into it. +++ The hazard is not in the plugging-in, but may arise from the appliance itself, if it starts unexpectedly.
to be honest with you i only know two things and that is you can make plug sockets and you can make a bath but i am very sorry about i don't know too much but i ope i have helped you your sincerely Sarah
