Brown bears are one of the smartest carnivorans on the planet. They're considered smarter than canines, but not as smart as great apes. They have large brains, they can solve tricky problems, they learn how to use tools, etc. They are able to figure out how to steal fish from complex traps and even use pieces of wood for bridges. Their aggression seems to make people think that bears are stupid. However, the experts know better.
