It is because of the skill and time it takes create a Quilt. If you look at how different quilts can be and the master quilters can take years to create one final piece. The use of colors and the styles takes a lot of creativity.
Now, that being said, the real question is "What is Art?"
You don't have to like something for it to be art, and not everything is Art to All people, but it can be art to one person. If you think it beautiful, then great, if you think it obnoxious than move on.....let someone else enjoy it.
