Rabies shots are given to help prevent the spread of rabies to animals. This has multiple benefits including the protection of the animal vaccinated from a deadly virus, the protection of other animals from exposure to rabies through the animal vaccinated and the protection of people from exposure to a rabid animal.

How much does the rabies shot for cats cost?

It really depends on age and what shots you're talking about. A cat needs an examination before it can be given a shot. This will probably run you around 100$. Rabies shots are REQUIRED and are around 50$. Total: 150$ However, as I said, it depends on how many shots and which ones you get. I don't buy the others since they ARE known to actually get cats sick. ALSO, please make sure your vet delivers them in a limb, not the torso. Usually, it's the right hind leg. (Shots have been proven to cause cancer and require amputation of the limb. Be wary and informed when getting your cats shots)

Will a dog get sick if he has 2 rabies shots within a year?

No he should not, as it is a very safe and killed vaccine. He could probably be vaccinated for Rabies many many times in one year and have no reaction. Don't worry, better to be safe and know he has his Rabies vaccine than not.

Why the cat need to be vaccinated?

A kitten requires a series of shots. The first is the feline distemper, sometimes refered to as FVRCP. These are given in a series with 2 shots about 3-4 weeks apart. The FVRCP is repeated annually. Vaccines for feline leukemia and feline aides are important if the cat goes outside. These vaccines are given in a series of 2 to bolster immunity in the the first year, then annually. Rabies is given annually begining at 16 wks old. New recommendations are first shots at 9 weeks old. Rabies after 20 weeks. USE ONLY NON ADJUVANTED rabies. You do not vaccinate for anything (except rabies by law) after the kitten shots. (a series of 2, four weeks apart).

How many shots you have to get to get rabies?

The answer depends on the risk factors for exposure and how long the vaccine to be used provides protection against the disease. Some vaccines are effective for a year while others are effective for 3 years.

Ia am giving rabies shot but you like to stop it because your dog has no rabies at all?

I just got my dogs shots updated the other day and the vet said that its not uncommon to not give dogs a rabies vaccine. The only reason this is allowed is if you ar living in a non rural area that hasn't had many reports or outbreaks of rabies. However, it is always best to check with your vet.

Does your handicap relate exactly to the number of shots you receive?

Yes, your handicap directly relates to how many shots you get. In strokeplay, a handicap of 10 would give you 10 shots. In matchplay you would get the difference between your handicap and your opponents, or have to give them shots. Some competitions stipulate that 3/4 of the difference be given.
