There are many reasons why they are so important . One is that if they die off so will all the animals that eat them and all the animals that eat those animals will die and etc. Also if they die the plants that they ate will grow huge and they plants that don't grow as big will grow under them and won't get any sunlight and will die off. Lastly it's just good to have them around so our world can be more diverse. Hope this helps
