Sermons are important because they are meant to teach the congregation about what The Bible says about how we should live our lives and if it is a good sermon it should challenge those in the church to go out, share the "good news" and be loving to those we meet!

Jerusalem has some significance for Christians as that is where Jesus was crucified but really it is just a city there is nothing holy or important about Jerusalem for Christians. There is nothing important about going there.
