Telescopes on Earth have to look through the atmosphere (air) which distorts the image. Telescopes in space dont have to look through the atmosphere and so the image is a lot clearer.
In space, they can see better because there is no atmosphere to interfere with sight. This gives a much clearer, sharper view.
Because light is absorbed and disturbed as it passes through air ... effects that ground-based telescopes have to live with but Hubble doesn't.
The Hubble telescope is different from land based telescopes in that being in space it does not suffer atmospheric distortion, thus clearer pictures.
In space, however, telescopes are able to get a clearer shot of everything from exploding stars to other galaxies. Another disadvantage for ground-based telescopes is that the Earth's atmosphere absorbs much of the infrared and ultraviolet light that passes through it.
Large telescopes have improved resolution over small telescopes and as such can gather clearer images of objects further away.
If a telesscope is in space it is not affected by the earths atmosphere so you get a better clearer more refined image. Space is colder so it is easier to pick up infrared radiation from other galixies.
The atmosphere blocks and distorts light. Telescopes in space don't have that interference. This allows them to see farther and to get clearer, more detailed images.
All space telescopes are unmanned - unless you want to count the small telescopes on the Shuttle or IIS as space telescopes.
Hubble does not have to contend with the atmosphere of the earth which bends and distorts images from earth-based telescopes.
In orbit, the telescopes are not hindered by atmospheric turbulence, nor by clouds. But it is especially the turbulence that hinders telescopes on Earth; in outer space, you can get much clearer pictures. Another reason is that not all radiation reaches Earth's surface in significant amounts; for example, most ultraviolet or infrared radiation is absorbed by the atmosphere. Telescopes that detect those must needs be in outer space.
