Most animals, including the squirrel, have long tails for balance. Think about it. Have you ever seen a cartoon where the tightrope walker is holding a stick for balance. Well, the squirrel's tail works in the same way as that stick, allowing it to easily move on slim branches.

all i kno is that the squirrels tail is used to help it balance and hold onto things - but lol i dont kno y it is bushy
