Green represents the Muslim minority in India, and White symbolizes the wish for peace, goodwill, and tolerance between different communities in India. Apart from these three colours, there is an Asoka Chakra (Asoka Wheel) in the centre of the White strip. Although the colour of the wheel is Indigo, in this case the colour is irrelevant. The wheel symbolizes progress, growth, and development for the nation. The Asoka wheel is taken from the Asoka Pillar (which is also India's national emblem).
