they're not....that's the point of amber.

but i guess people try to drive on the very limit.... so at one end might accidentally cross read trying to make amber and at the other end cross red as it turns green.... there are however huge margins for error so there is never a danger unless you cross in the middle of red.

How many seconds before proceeding at a green traffic light?

You don't have to wait any amount of time when the light turns green, when the light turns green that means the intersection is safe for you to proceed.

What is the probability of getting a green light at a signal if it is green for 20 seconds then yellow for 5 seconds then red for 25 seconds?

This is like a marble problem, selecting a normal time at a standard traffic light, looking for the green light time. Adding all the times, we have 20 + 5 + 25 = 50. Now, 20 of those 50 seconds are green, thus, the probability is "good/total", which is 20/50 = 2/5 = .4 or 40%.

What is the duration of the way red before the green light of the traffic lights?

Okay, you're talking about the delay when the light turns red for one direction and then turns green for another direction. My guess would be that it would be to ensure that the intersection is clear before another direction of travel is given the green.

What is the duration of the 4 way red before the green light?

What are the sequences of traffic light durations in Canada?

In Canada, traffic light durations can vary by municipality, but generally, the sequence includes green, yellow, and red lights. The green light typically lasts from 30 to 60 seconds, followed by a yellow light for about 3 to 5 seconds to warn drivers before the light turns red. The red light usually remains on for a similar duration as the green light, allowing for safe pedestrian crossing and traffic flow changes. Some intersections may also have variations to accommodate factors such as traffic volume and time of day.
