What do you look for in a guitar?
A straight neck,must not have a twist in the neck.If an acoustic guitar then check sound- box for resonance quality.Fret board and frets must be in reasonable order so no buzzing of strings.Check harmonics on 12th fret but most importantly...the 'action',which is the relative ease of playing determined by the distance between string and fret board.Also brand and cost is a factor.

Of course there is!! He was with Black Lable Society forever and made plenty of songs with out harmonics.. All of his songs with harmonics are so much better though
Can you put a 24 fret guitar neck on a 21 fret guitar and if not why not?
if the neck fits in the joint absolutely , but make sure to intonate the guitar so the harmonics line up with the neck which is something big for experienced players, very easy to do. Tune the guitar perfectly than do harmonics on the 12th fret and adjust the bridge until they're dead on. It sounds hard but it isn't. also make sure the neck us sitting on the guitar right because this could create problems on the neck with playabillity. I modified the neck on my main guitar and it didn't sit right on the neck at first and i had some dead notes which went away when the neck was perfectly straight. but hope I could help.

Are frets closer the more frets you get on bass guitars?
yes probably because i have a 20 fret and 24 fret bass and the frets on my 24 fret are much closer.also, on my 24 fret is says on the package:medium frets. and on the 20 fret has bigger frets so i presume that the 20 fret has "large frets"
