Main reason is because of their general mission which is that Sea Shepherd's mission is to end the destruction of habitat and the slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. The founder Paul Watson was co founder of greenpeace so before sea shepherd, he wanted to protect whales due to their high intellect but lack of defence against humanity, so whales have always been part of sea shepherd's mission. Sea Shepherd is pretty much only organisation that nowadays will directly get involved in saving whales by physically preventing the whalers to hunt whales.
whales
Japanese whalers they kill them for food or something like that sea shepherd say they are violating a thing on commercial whaling but the whalers say they are killing whales for scientific research both have the law on their side and they are fighting over it and sea shepherd is trying to stop whaling.
Paul Watson has written: 'Earthforce' 'Where War Lives' 'Sea Shepherd' -- subject(s): Biography, Conservationists, Sea Shepherd (Ship), Seals (Animals), Whales 'Take Me as I Am'
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is led by Captain Paul Watson.
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society was created in 1977.
Sea Shepherd is a Non profit Governmental Organisation (NGO) which is a marine conservation organisation. They aim to conserve marine wildlife from being killed such as Whales, Dolphins and sea turtles. They use direct action tactics to protect marine life. The organization was founded in 1977 by Paul Watson, a co-founder of Greenpeace.
Whales are inquisitive creatures. Whole families of whales routines will swim alongside (at a distance) from a ship of any size. They'll broach, blow water, dive, and resurface, almost as if showing off for people. Humans take tours in Alaskan and the Antarctic Sea to see whales do these antics. The Sea Shepherd Organization and cast of the Animal Planet series, Whale Wars, routinely show pods of whales coming up and swimming alongside their boats. It's a big treat for the Sea Shepherd crews (3 boats normally) since they patrol those waters to prevent Japanese illegal whale killings and harvesting.
The Sea Shepherd's aim is to stop illegal marine hunting in our seas and oceans.
no
No one person saves whales. It is done by groups. While some groups lobby governments to stop it, other groups use direct action (like Sea Shepherd, and greenpeace used to but has stopped sending ships to stop whaling).
The Silent Whales of Lunar Sea was created in 1995.
Whales live in the ocean. The only sea coast Poland has is with the Baltic Sea and there are no Blue whales in the Baltic.
