Based on the key on the map that I looked at, Cheltenham Beach, NZ looks to be about 1/2 a mile.
The question as asked is confusing. IF the Q concerns the ocean around NZ, the answer is the Pacific Ocean for most of the way, except that it is the Tasman Sea that separates NZ from Aus.
