Why are there smoke free places?

Many people are allergic to smoke.

Many people do not enjoy breathing air with smoke.

Why should the smokers rule the world and decide what kind of air everybody else should breathe?

There are no problems for smokers to find places where their smoke does not annoy anybody. Why should the smokers be allowed to "demand" to light up their cigarette where ever they want to?

I don't even bother to write a lot about the obvious health risk involved with smoking.

That alone should be enough for smoking to be banned in all public places.

Sorry about being a bit tense and edgy when writing this answer.

I myself have experienced how badly quite a few smokers behave towards non-smokers.. Me trying to explain that I am actually allergic made no difference.

At least nowadays I can go to a restaurant and enjoy a meal out without having to take allergy medicin first.

I suppose most people know why there are smoke free places.

Why do all public places have to be smoke free?

Public places are required to be smoke free by law in many states because of the newly discovered effects of second hand smoke on health. Whenever you smoke around others, the second hand smoke (smoke that you do not inhale or smoke that you exhale) can be inhaled by others. This smoke is actually more dangerous to the lungs. Therefore, when you smoke around others, you are not only endangering your own health, but theirs as well. Many states have decided that in public places, every person has the right to their health, and so smoking has been outlawed in these areas.

Do you have to be 18 to buy electronic cigarettes?

No, at least not in the UK. They do not contain tobacco and you do not need a lighter or match. The smoke in them is actually legal free vapor which is not banned in public places, So you can buy them under 18 and you can smoke them in smoking places because they don't contain any restricted or illegal parts such as tobacco.
