Constellations appear to form images in the night sky, but each of the stars are extremely far away fron each other. They just line up from our own viewing points.

How does light make rainbows?

If the various frequencies of white light have their paths shifted slightly (by a piece of glass or by droplets of water) then each color will follow a slightly different path.

What are inclined mirrors?

An incline is a ramp or gentle slope. Inclined mirrors are two or more facing mirrors that are not both perpendicular to each other in two directions. For example, if two mirrors were on opposite walls of room, then one edge of one mirror were twisted (lifting the bottom off the wall or the right side), then the mirrors would be inclined from each other.

What causes rainbows to bend?

Each droplet of rain is actually a sphere that refracts white light from the sun into all the different colors of the spectrum. Each visible color comes off at a different angle from each drop in the shape of a cone. The droplets directly in front of you are throwing cones of color all around you and you can't see them. As you reach a certain angle away from you, you catch the small part of each cone from millions of spheres and it the colors appear to form a circle. In a plane you can see rainbows in full circles. On the ground you lose half to the horizon. Also, this is why you can't find the gold at the end of the rainbow. Because it always depends on your position relative to the sun and the rain, it will always move as you move or disappear.

When an object is placed between two mirror placed parallel to each other how many images will be formed?

In theory, the answer is "an infinite number". In practice, light will be deflected away from the theoretical by small defects in the mirror and the glass in front of the mirror, as well as absorbed. These will reduce the number of images.
