How did people in northern Ireland respond to the introduction of internment in1971?

The Protestants in Northern Ireland didn't mind much as hardly any Protestants were arrested. Internment was entirely biased and one-sided, with 98% of all those arrested Catholics. Catholic were 100% opposed to internment and fierce rioting swept the country as British soldier arrived to arrest people. The Catholics were generally mistreated during their arrests and so internment was not popular among Northern Irish Catholics. Some people who were interned are still bitter about it to this day.

Catholics created religious art, while Protestants created art depicting everyday scenes. Which issue did Catholics and Protestants disagree about that led to their radically different art?

There were many issues that the protestants and Catholics disagreed about. Catholic art responded to the reformation by depicting the issues that were being challenged. So in Catholic art you will find the virgin Mary or art depicting the dogma of the immaculate conception or saints eg Saint Catherine being welcomed into heaven. In general Protestant art tended to avoid: grandiose images of Jesus or the Virgin Mary; big set-piece scenes from The Bible (like the Passion of Christ); images of the Saints; and, in particular, depictions of the Popes and other senior clergy. Instead, Protestant art focused on humble depictions of biblical scenes and moralistic depictions of contemporary everyday life.

What did Martin Luther's followers call themselves?

Martin Luther was the leader of the Christian Reformation, that is he started the rebellion against the Roman Catholic church because of what the chatholic church was doing to the people, selling pentances and so forth making them think that the more money they gave for forgiviness of a sin that God would surley forgive them of that sin and they would go to heaven and it would keep them out of hell. The people at that time started calling them selves Lutherans that followed new beliefs of Martin Luther and Martin Luther did not want that but he could not change the people so that is where the Lutheran got their name and where the church got started. Martin Luther aso and formost found in the study of the word that God saves you through his word and that all you have to do is ask God to save you and come into your heart to go to Heaven. This is the biggest difference between the Catholic and the Prodestants today and that is what the Reformation is all about. That is where the name Prodestant came from the word Protest. Martin Luther protested against the Catholic church when he placed his Theses on the door at Worms.
