Weed significant a pest because these are plants that is grow where it is not wanted therefore when weed grown near the crops, they cause damage on it or they can interfere with the interest of a farmer as weeds became pest.
There are two trains of thought on this subject:
Conventional farming says that the weed is a pest because it competes with the crop for water and nutrients so it must be eradicated.
Organics says that the weed is quite often useful tool as mother nature dictates which weed you will end up with according to the needs of your soil. Docks will appear if you have hard or wet soil as the tap root breaks up the soil allow rain to easily penetrate. Different "weeds" will introduce different nutrients to the soil to counter an imbalance.
There is nothing wrong with a few weeds, they protect the soil from the harmful rays of the sun, they reduce the amount of water evaporating from the soil (by shading the soil) and they provide organic matter for the soil.
I recommend mowing or keeping your weeds low and close to the ground that way that work there magic and don't detract from your crop.
Cheers,
Barry.
my pest name is the evil weed
Animal : Pest_____ : Weed? then Plant
Completely different. For weed control you apply an herbicide with a sprayer all over the yard, Pest all depends on the pest being treated.
For pests, nematodes, another example is there are decorative plants or landscaping that gophers can't stand. As for the weed part perhaps another can add.
A pest is any kind of unwanted organism, just as a weed is any unwanted plant. A rose could be a weed, if it is an unwanted plant to you. A possum could be a pet to someone (though not recommended) and therefore would not be a pest. However there are pest control companies that specialize in small animal control, including possums. Rabbits were introduced into Australia, and have now become a pest species. Japanese Knot Weed was introduced in Victorian times as an ornamental garden plant, and has become a serious weed problem difficult to eradicate..
You don't have to; they'll grow by themselves. Weeds have the uncanny ability of spreading and surviving, unless of course, a human comes and unearths the pest.
No. It needs to be sprayed on dry leaves so that it can adhere to the weed surface and be absorbed by the foliage.
