It's name comes from it's size and because it's a white shark. Also nice to know is that it's very rare for a human to be injured or killed by the great white shark. If they go close to the group were the people are, they're usually just there to mate with another great white shark.

The word "Shark" comes from the German word shurke, which means villain or rebel.

Of course they are not really evil man eaters like many of the myths and media say. Besides, they named them centuries ago. What do they know. I heard there was no tv back then.
