The reason is because in the North it is farther than the equator so the farther the equator is the colder it is. In addition, Australia is closer to the equator
It doesn't snow much here in Korea. But, it does snow once in a while during cold winters.
North America has both hot and cold weather. The farther north you go, the colder the winters are. The farther south you travel, the hotter the summers are.
