Google has stated that it has become too difficult to maintain parity on the Linux version. It will still work but Google will no longer be offering updates for it.

There is a website by Google called Google Answers which has been retired and no longer accepts new questions. However, you can search or browse the existing Google Answers index and view the previously asked questions by the users.
Some of the functions of Google Desk are emails, photo sharing/storing, music, storing files & web page searching. As of September 14th, 2011 Google Desk is no longer downloadable or upgradable and was shut down.
