there are three things that can go wrong for you not to get a spark. 1. the cable/s could be defective. 2.the spark plug is worn out or burned out. 3. your coil needs to be replace
I will let you know what turns up. By the way, is there a place I can find a free Chilton(or similiar) trouble shooting and repair book I can find online?
If the coil is producing a spark then the HT lead between them is breaking down.
If you're not getting spark from the distributor, see if you're getting spark from the ignition coil. If there's no spark there, then the coil is either bad, or it's not wired up correctly.
If getting no spark, it could be your spark plug wire is bad or your coil pack. say 3 and 6 getting no sparks, that means your coil pack is bad and you need to replace. if you getting no sparks after replacing new coil pack, it could be your ignition module.
electronic spark modulator bad.
could be.... coil ... coil wire or... pick up coil.. not working
No input voltage to the coil or the coil is bad. Check the distributor for issues and the wires.
ok the coil produces spark the distributer directs it but check and see if the cap and rotor are dirty if the coil is bad or if you have a bad ground
well the reason my coil was not getting power on my 85 mr2 was cuz the timing belt snaped
coil, wire, ignition control module
The coil is bad or the ignitions system is grounding out somewhere.
If you are getting power to your coil and you still have no spark at the spark plug, you have a bad coil. Beyond that you will have to chase the electrical system. could be a fusible link.
try to get a new ignition rotor
