The original owners of the Hyatt House at LAX (the first to be built just outside an airport) were entrepreneurs, Hyatt von Dehn and Jack Crouch (1950-1992). The Hyatt hotel chain was started by Jay Pritzker (1922-1999) by his purchase in 1957 of that hotel. Crouch left the company in 1965. The Pritzkers are one of Chicago's wealthiest families.
