Best Answer

The blood plasma is the transport medium in the circulatory system, into which many substances are dissolved, like carbon dioxide, hormones and nutrients. It helps to carry red and white blood cells, as well as platelets, to different parts of the body quickly and efficiently.

The plasma can also diffuse out of capillaries into the gaps around cells, allowing the nutrients in the plasma to diffuse into the cells.
