So it's a given that they are told they can not leave their country. After Kim Jong-il took over North Korea, he stated that he was never listened to or treated right in that country, so he said that he would treat the People of North Korea the way they treated him. And telling the country that they are unable to leave,gives him somewhat justice I suppose.

Laws are strict and bad things that are said about the government are federally punishable. For most of the country, leaving is not allowed.

WELL North Korea is a centralized paranoid communism. its got a poor economy and cant even support its own people. torists have to be with a guide at all times they still do public exicutions. in north Korea they cant practice freedom of press unless it shows the government in a positive view. radios and TVS are rigged to play only government approved channles. that being said north Korea only has 38 TV stations. they ban moble phones. they shut off all power from 12 midnight to 8 in the morning and most of there factorys are abandoned from lack iof funding. the mass majority of the remaining factorys make weapons. also talking crap about there leader is worth the death penalty and they give out food in frount of his statue also north Korea has the 4th biggest militry in the world. lastly they threaten nukes on everyone except there allies which are Russia, china and i think Japan. also they spent less then 40 bil dollars on imports per year. south koreas economy is booming, they trade on the free market, they have a great nation with a slightly corrupt democracy. and a medium sized military. pretty much everything i said about NK is opposite to SK
