They are kinda like spirits. They can't see themselves in their reflection; it confuses their minds. But, to make this easier, just like how ghosts are stereotyped to have no feet, vampires have no reflection. But that is not a stereotype.
How do security mirrors work?
Its a piece of glass that is coated with mirrored tint so that when you look at it you see your reflection. Yet on the other side it serves as a tinted window making it so you can see them but the cant see you.
