In Mid- Ocean, a Tsunami is really nothing more that a small swell, and as it is, It is undetectable unless you happen to have on you a device that measures Oceanic Seismic Activity. This is because the water is deep enough there for the massive force to be under the waves until it reaches shallower water.
In deep ocean water, the speed of a tsunami can exceed 500 mph but the wave height may be only a few feet. As the tsunami approaches shallow water and the sea floor rises, the speed decreases while the wave height increases significantly. This is why tsunamis can cause devastating flooding and destruction when they reach the coastline.
i dout it because we cant prevent earthquakes and we dont know when an earthquake will occur so no you cant prevent one
It's 600 miles from the coast!!
you cant lol
the ocean cant become extinct.
In a book called "The tales of crypids" it states that mermaids do catch sailors off guard then drags them down in the water but the mermaids found out when they bring the sailors down, that the sailors cant breath underwater so the sailors end up dying and ever since the mermaids have been hiding to distract more sailors.
I cant be boverd to name all of them so heres a site that will be helpfull it did me... http://library.thinkquest.org/10136/tsunami/tsuntq.htm
uhhh your baby is a zombie
Tsunamis occur as a result of an earthquake underwater. The earthquakes happen when the 'built up energy' in the tectonic plates gets released. Due to the earthquake, the tsunami occurs. You cant really find out when the tsunami/earthquake will occur because we do not have enhanced machines yet. However, earthquakes and tsunamis can be detected- but close to the time of occurrence- this is why the only way to protect yourself is by evacuating as quickly as possible, as soon as the warning is issued.
it cant there are no volcanoes or earthquakes in florida i should know i lived there
The only way that we humans can predict tsunamis is just about the same as the way we predict the earthquakes that cause them. The Quake releases p-waves that are extremely fast and non-destructive, before the main S-waves and Rayleigh waves do the damage. Places with alarms like Japan will usually detect these and give a warning that's up to a minute and a half in advance for huge earthquakes. It's enough time to shut off gas, elevators, etc. and often enough time for people to get to safety if they are prepared and don't panic.
they sang salve regina im not lying and i cant login
