Why can't you get back on the train and leave Folsense in Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box?

The game will not give you the option of getting back on the train. That only happens automatically after the end of the game. It will ask you to save at that point.

The movie is to be released in Japan on December 19 2009 in Japanese. A trailer was recently released of Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney, and Luke was a prominent part of that trailer, so one can only assume that he either returns to Layton or it's another partial Professor Layton prequel type of thing.
