To enter the castle dungeon, you need the Library Slip. Get the gold coin from the fountain and enter the Mordred Museum. In a stack of books to the right is a Library Slip. When you go to the location in the library (McM, non-fiction), the scroll will open the secret stairway down to the dungeon. (see related question)
