I had the same problem when I tried to buy a book with a tablet PC using the kobo store gateway. I logged onto the site, with the same user name password, and bought the book on a desktop PC. I then downloaded the book onto the tablet. Once the payment data was entered with the desktop PC I had no problems buying books on the tablet!
