There are hundreds if not thousands of bacteria, viruses and parasites that can cause shark illnesses. Wounds can also invite infections. Sharks mainly seem resilient in the area of cancer. However, in general illnesses, they can certainly get sick.

∙ 13y agoWhen sharks first came into evolution, there was a chemical in the water that they lived in. When they soaked it up into their gills, it mutated their white blood cell count to keep them super duper healthy! Now, this mutation is passed down through generations, and is stored in their genes, that is why they are not prone to disaese.
