Well, there are three possible reasons that I could think of that might be a reason why.
A- Your friend's computer has a software to upload the pictures
B- Your computer may not be able to handle photo shop uploads (Unlikely)
C- You are not uploading them the right way

You don't. Yahoo images is an image search engine that looks for images on the internet. Just upload a picture anywhere on the internet and Yahoo will eventually add it to it's image index.
You can all you have to do is save it as a PND and use your Bc to upload it.
