Why can the Transamerica Pyramid resist earthquakes?
The Transamerica Pyramid can resist earthquakes because:
1. The building was built on a special base platform that allows it to reduce shaking from earthquakes.
2. Diagonal trusses at its base protect it from both horizontal and vertical forces.
3. It has a a 212 foot spire
4. It has a wide heavy base, declining in weight as the height increases.
5. Has some flexibility which is helpful in making sure the building doesn't just collapse during the earthquake
6. The little wing structures near the top

There are no shapes that can resist earthquakes, but the strongest shape (as we all know (Hopefully)) the triangle is the strongest but is useless to earthquakes. if you want something to hold stuff still during one. you will possibly need springs. they help for dampening the movement back and forth.
Building can have a stronger foundation as well as a broader base to prevent it from toppling over. An example would be a pyramid shape, used in the Transamerica Pyramid. Certain features such as a giant ball at the top of the building as seen in Taipei 101 can be used to stabilise the buildings during strong winds.
The three tallest buildings in San Francisco, as of 2013, are: 1. The Transamerica Pyramid or Transamerica Center, built in 1972. It has 52 floors and a height of 237m. 3. 345 California Centre, completed in 1986. It has 48 floors and a height of 212m.
Make earthquakes, Breathe underwater, Talk to sea animals and horses (Poseidon "invented" the horse), manipulate water, resist undersea pressure, resist getting wet. the book series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is about a boy, Percy, who is a demigod of Poseidon. I learned a lot about Greek mythology from those books.
