Because of the sun's light shining on it
Well, the moon is a sphere, and if it is a full moon you are really only seing half of it. so technically you are seeing 50% of the moon
We can't always.... when it's the New Moon (the moon is between us and the Sun), we can't see it at all. However, as the moon orbits Earth, we can see it in the day or night sky. We see it well THEN, because it's only about 235,000 miles from Earth and 1/4 of Earth's size - about the size of Africa.
well what i have read about the 27th of august is that mars will be so close to earth that you can see it as you can see the moon , that happens every 2500 years
well by you can't see the moon, I think you mean new moon. You have a new moon during a solar eclipse (moon is blocking the sun)
As it orbits the Earth there are times it can see the moon and there are times when it is on the opposite side of the Earth to the moon, so it can't see it.
The sun reflects light off the moon at all times. The moon is always revolving, so eventually you see less and less until you see nothing. When you don't see the moon, its called a new moon.
We see phases of the Moon because we see the Moon by the Sun's light reflected off it. As the Earth and Moon orbit each other, the Sun-Moon-Earth angle changes, and we see different portions of the Moon's day side. The Sun is a star, so it shines with its own light and so there is no dark side.
Well, in the movies you should be thirteen. But I am an adult and I don't even let5 my children cross the street yet. So, i think the appropriate age to see New Moon is around 10 and up.
When a solar eclipse happens the moon is in front of the sun. So you see the shadow of the moon you do not see the reflection of the sunlight though. The only thing you see is the shadow of the moon and the sun's corona.
Are you posable talking about a Full Moon?
The Moon is a moon and the planets are planets, so it's impossible for a moon to be a planet. See related questions.
Well the moon doesnt actually move, so when this moon is out at day it means it hasnt orbited the earths full rotation.... so the sun is still in the sky as well as the moon.
