You can hear a teacher through a closed door of a classroom because the sound waves diffract or bend around corners. (Sound waves don't always travel in a straight line)

You can.
Maybe. Wooden doors are not generally "soundproof", so it's certainly possible that someone might, depending on how loudly you're whispering, how far from the door you (and they) are, how thick it is, and how good their hearing is.
Actually, that is a great question. I was just doing my homework when that question popped up. In fact, light does not bend. Have you ever seen light travel around a corner? Or under a table? Or through a closed door? Sound, on the other hand, is not like light. Notice that when you pass a corner, go under a table, or close a door, you can still hear whatever noise is happening in your area.
Their are vibrations that let you hear through various things.

You can hear it because of driffraction. The sound waves diffract through the openings.
a phone ring can be heard across a shut door because there is always some space through the door from where the sound travels and reaches to our ears.
You can.
Sound is not audibly louder in a room with the door open or closed. If I had a volume meter I might be able to measure the sound being slightly louder with it closed because the sound would reflect off a closed door but leave through an open one, but you'll never hear it. I determined this experimentally. First I closed the door to the room and played some Iron Maiden with my speakers turned up halfway. Then I opened the door to the room and played the same song at the same volume setting. It didn't get any quieter in there. The real effect, of course, is OUTSIDE the room. If I open the door and play Maiden, the neighbors hear it better than if I keep it closed and play them.
The sound waves are diffracted through the door opening.
Labrador Retrievers, like most dogs, have excellent hearing. They can hear any sound that you can hear, and many more in higher frequencies and lower volumes. If are able to hear something happening through a door, chances are your pooch can too.
doorbell, knocking, see through peephole, hear footsteps, dog barking
because a glass is like a micorphone you can here every thing
