When overused or if smoking marijuana becomes a habit, it can become psychologically addictive making the person want to smoke more marijuana. This is especially true of those who smoke marijuana and tobacco together in what is traditionally called a "blunt."

If someone abuses marijuana leading up to pregnancy it can be hard to stop. Children who are exposed to marijuana while in the womb may be linked with attentive and learning disorders.

It harms the baby. A cigarette has harmful chemicals that are taken into the body when smoked. While in college I happened to see a ultra sound of a fetus of a smoking mother. The fluid around the baby showed red. Children born of smoking mothers are often premature, under birth weight, and may suffer from brain damage.

You cannot smoke while you are pregnant. No questions asked, no exceptions. This is fairly harmful to the child.
