I think to answer that, I would have to look at your bathtub faucet. Sorry.
To effectively perform a bathtub faucet replacement, first turn off the water supply to the bathtub. Remove the old faucet by unscrewing it and disconnecting any pipes. Install the new faucet by following the manufacturer's instructions and securely connecting all parts. Turn the water supply back on and test the new faucet for leaks.
turn on the heat
Get down into it with long thin tweezers and pick all that yukky hair out. Buy a hairscreen and it won't happen again.
No. It takes much more than water pressure to turn on the water faucet. At most, there is a leak if anything at all.
To change a sink faucet, first turn off the water supply, then disconnect the old faucet and remove it. Install the new faucet by following the manufacturer's instructions, making sure to tighten all connections securely. Finally, turn the water supply back on and test the new faucet for leaks.
Sounds as if it is stuck. Shut off water supply to it and take apart the handle and cartridge. Take the main internal parts to a plumbing store and get a replacement (made for all faucets) Then install carefully in reverse order to removal.
A whistling noise coming from the shower faucet or when filling the bathtub could mean that there is excess air in the water line. This can be fixed by turning off the major water supply valve and then opening all of the faucets in the home for about 5 minutes. Shut all of the faucets off, then turn the water supply back on.
Are the lines to this bathroom connected? Follow the cold & hot water plumbing lines to the pipes which go to this bathroom. See if they are connected or if there are shutoffs on them and that they are turned on. If they are old galvanizd lines they could be plugged.
You should purge all your water pipes of built in sediment. Don't forget, you are drinking the water too!
