if I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure its that sperm cells and the egg. (gamete's)

each have around 23 chromosomes each. and a skin cell already has 46 chromosomes.

so mitosis wouldn't be able to happen.

well at least that's what i think.

Sex cells need ginetic variation in order to have the many outcomes that it creates and so we are notall exact copies of eachother. Mitosis is a cell making an exact copy of itself so the sex cells would

1.) cause us to all look the same and

2.) double the number of chromosomes each generation because the two would need to combine.

Meiosis goes through mitosis twice and includes crossing over and such to create, in the end, 4 cells each unique for every one cell it starts with.

Mitosis creates daughter cells with the same chromosome count as their parent, however meiosis daughter cells have half the number of chromosomes as their parent. This is because if two reproductive cells (formed by meiosis) meet, each will have half the chromosomes needed, adding up to 46, enough to make a new cell. If the two reproductive cells already had a full chromosome count met, they would combine to make a cell with double the chromosome count needed, horribly mutating it. Imagine that...

Hope this helps! Recommend me. ;o

Because reproductive cells generally need to have only half of the number of chromosomes that normal cells have. Therefore, they are formed by meiosis (splitting of the cell).

Sex cells must be haploid so they can combine to form a diploid zygote.

Mitosis splits a diploid into two diploid, so a diploid must use meiosis to become haploid.

because mitosis makes a duplicate cell & it would have too many chromosomes. meiosis makes sex cells

Daughter cells are produced in both meiosis and mitosis. The difference is daughter cells are 2N in mitosis and ultimately 1N in meiosis.

What kind of cells result from mitosis?

mitosis= body cells or somatic cells Meiosis= sex cells or germ cells

Why are mitosis and meisois genetically different?

mitosis is for cell division. meiosois is used when sex cells split to form the cells that are for the baby....

What type of cell undergoes mitosis?

Mitosis is the form of cell division that most eukaryotic cells undergo. In humans, all somatic (non-sex) cells use mitosis to divide. Sex-cells use meiosis instead of mitosis.

Do human use mitosis or miosis?

Humans use both- mitosis to grow, meiosis to form sex cells for reproduction.

Are sex cells undergoing mitosis?

Your "germ" (or sex, but I prefer germ) cells undergo mitosis to create more diploids, but then they undergo Meiosis I to form a haploid. In boys, the germ cells will undergo Meiosis II to form their complete germ cells. In girls, the cell will only complete Meiosis II if the egg is fertilized. So the answer is sort of yes... the diploids will undergo Mitosis, but to actually get germ cells... they must undergo Meiosis.

How many cells are in mitosis?

two because in mitosis the cell divides only once so the two new nuclei form and forms two sex cells.

What is the order of fertilization sex cells meiosis zygote mitosis?

The order would be: Meiosis -> sex cells -> fertilization -> zygote -> mitosis Meiosis creates sex cells, called gametes, which combine during fertilization to create a zygote. The zygote then undergoes mitosis.

Is mitosis sex or body cells?

Body cells. Meiosis deals with sex cells

How many cells are produced in mitosis?

two because in mitosis the cell divides only once so the two new nuclei form and forms two sex cells.

Is Mitosis is used to make sex cells?

No. Meiosis makes sex cells.

What is meosis and mitosis?

meiosis is where sex cells are made -there are 8 steps in meiosis mitosis is where the nucleus divides -there are 4 steps in mitosis they both make chromosomes

How could you use asexual reproduction and mitosis in the same sentence?

Cells in the body, apart from the sex cells, reproduce by mitosis, a form of asexual reproduction where the chromosomes are identical in both the parent and the daughter cells.
