Often a worn clutch disk will not show symptoms when the vehicle has a hydraulic clutch system. The hydraulics "self adjust", leaving the driver surprised when the clutch disk fails altogether.
The clutch disk is simple, it is literally pinched between the pressure plate and the flywheel. When the disk wears too thin to fill the space between the pressure plate and the flywheel, there will be nothing for the pressure plate to press against, and there will be no transfer of power between the engine and the transmission.
To repair the clutch, the engine and/or transmission must be removed so that you can get to the clutch assembly, which is between the two.
It's a significant enough job that you'll need someone to do it for you.
you cant it is a hydrolic clutch
You need a new clutch
Not too sure on this one.. try bleeding the clutch, also check your clutch fluid which is in a reservoir on the back right by your master cylinder.. if its low... top it with brake fluid. It could be a bad slave cylinder.... Cant hurt getting it check by a mechanic.... Hope this was helpful.... Cheers, and GOODLUCK!
You cant it is a hydraulic clutch
Assuming you mean the clutch won't disengage and the system has been bled properly, the pressure plate may be damaged or the clutch disc is installed backwards (if the clutch was just replaced). Also, with some vehicles the clutch master cylinder has to be bench bled before installation.
I had this problem. For me the pressure plate was sticking and broke the linkage. Take it to the dealer for replacement.
drop the drive shaft, disconnect all the wires to the transmission, drop the cross members, remove the transmission. You are now at the clutch housing. remove the six bolts hold the clutch pressure plate. once you do that the clutch disk will fall out. Inspect the pressure plate. ( if you can move the tines more than a inch then replace it). clean up the fly wheel with emory cloth. This is very important!!! If you cant figure this out then buy a owners workshop manual
you cant top it up. you have to buy a genuine Renault clutch hydrolics kit.don't mistake this with a clutch kit tho. it is a big job to put it in. the whole dash has to be taken out of the car. my 2000 expression has had a clutch kit fitted and the reservoir is behind the steering column. you do have to take the trim off around the steering wheel.
you cant
Sorry my ruler i have cant measure that...
I just found the relay on my 1999 sc2.I have a standard tranny and I followed the wires from the clutch safety switch. My relay was up under the dash on the drivers side taped with electrical tape to the harness. Hard to see get agood flashlight. Probably at the top of starter- follow the + battery cable should connect to starter solenoid (relay)
Answer: You can eliminate much of your overheating by having the clutch adjusted properly. you cant
