The B: drive was originally used back in the days when having two floppy drives was common. A: and B: are reserved for floppy drive use.
depending on how much free hard drive space you have it normally cant affect you pc unless it is turned on

If you do not have a DVD drive (and cant get one to operate from the BIOS) then you will need to do it over a network if your bios wont let you do that, you might be screwed.
