Simply because the cars wiring is built only to run one way + to + : - to -
It only matters when you install the timing chain and gears. Crank gear must be straight up at 12 o clock. Cam gear straight down at 6o clock when installing chain and gears. # 1 piston must be at top dead center/ all the way up before installing chain and gears. Don't matter were it's at when installing cam.

No. If it did crank over it wouldn't be seized.
The process for crank replacement in a car engine involves removing the old crankshaft, installing a new one, and ensuring proper alignment and torque of all components. how to ins toll a crank sensor on a 95 Mitsubishi 6v, but first of all my car crank to the point that it wanted to start but it does not start what might be the problem.
All except the pawns.
The starter turned backwards and tried to crank the motor backwards. Can the motor turn in that direction ? If not, I guess there could be a lot of loose gear teeth down in the bottom somewhere. This is intriguing to think about, but to be truthful, when it comes to gas engines, I really don't know what I'm talking about. Hope the damage is not too extensive/expensive.
Does it crank?
