Chemistry is extremely far reaching, and has such a profound impact in life there is the study of Biochemistry.Additionally, water, which is key for life, has many properities explain by chemistry. Chemical reaction are constantly happening in the world around us, and are completely unavoidable. Ever wonder how you digest? Why your stomach has acid in it? This is because enzymes in your stomach are "activated" by the low ph present in your stomach acid (HCl). A base is introduced in the small intestine to counteract the acid from the stomach. This is needed for the next set of enzmes to work. Water-the stuff of life. Water is one of the few substances that is denser than it's solid form(ice). This allows ice to float, in a lake, this cause the surface to freeze, keeping the water below the ice to stay warm and life to continue. Water also has a high specific heat, which means that it takes more energy to heat water. Water is also one of the few molecular substances that is a liquid at room temperature. Many of water's proporerties are explain through H-bonding. Water's molecular formula is H2O. H-bonding is an intermoluecular force, a force that holds individual molecules in a substance together. Of all the intermolecular forces H-bonding is the strongest. This means more enery is required to overcome it. This allows for higher-heat capacity, and in water, the liquid form to be denser that the solid form because of how the bonds align. H-bonding occurs in water as it occurs when an Oxygen(or Fluorine or Nitrogen) atom is bonded to a Hydrogen atom. Water is also a highly polarsubstance, which means one end has a negative charge (Oxygen) and the other end(hydrogen) has a polar charge. This is why water is a universal solvent-most substances disolve in it. It is also why some substances such has oil do not disolve in it. All around you chemical reactions are occuring. A chemical reaction is often used to: * provide energy (ie. the combustion of gasoline in your car engine) * Cool a substance (such as the cooling system in your car) * Depress the freezing point of substance (adding salt to ice)

Natural disaster is an act of weather or earth-related events that cause destruction. Man-made disasters are disasters that are related to events caused by actions of man and probably could have been prevented.
Naturally!
Well it depends on how you define a natural event. It could be answered in many ways such as a snow, hurricanes, women having babies. Those are all natural events.
yep
When a natural disaster causes an adverse event that leads to the death of people and the destruction of property, then it is referred to as a natural hazard. The adverse events have to be natural and not influenced by man in anyway to be considered as adverse.
tides
i believe volcano and earth quakes have the most effect.
It is useful to know science to understand the world around us, and be able to predicate future events (weather, natural disasters, etc.), and to understand cause/effect of events.
Supernatural causation is when the cause and effect pattern, by which all events occur, takes place on a natural and super-natural (that is, not of this earth) level. C.S. Lewis's book "Miracles" gives an excellent explanation of the way supernatural causation does not fall outside the realm of rational, scientitfic cause and effect or the natural laws.
Independent Events
