Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on the 27th December 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan by a Pakistani Islamic militant group. Shots were fired at her after a political rally, followed by a suicide-bomber explosion. 24 other innocent bystanders also died in the assassination. Two months before her assassination, there was a similar failed attempt on her life which killed 139 innocent bystanders.

I don't know why you want to blame science. Science has succeeded, it's politics that have failed. It isn't science that gives us corrupt dictatorial governments, genocidal civil wars, ignorance and superstition, tribalism, religious conflicts, etc.
