My 1997 1500 Suburban would attempt to start, but would not run. I replaced the fuel filter, alternator, battery and used a calibrated ignition tester. Still, the same problem existed. I eventually decided to replace the distributor cap and rotor AND to my surprise, the copper contacts were all green. Soonafter replacing the cap and rotor, the engine fired up immediately. Lesson learned. I didn't think it was a problem because I had a complete tune up 2 years ago.
Purchase a Purolator cabin filter and it will come with complete instructions on location and how to change it.
Didn't come with one until the model year 2000.
Your filter should come with instructions. It is located under the passangers side dash. you undo a few scres, slide the old ones out and put it back together
you get some wrench and turn them and the fuel filter will come right out if you need more details let me know and i can tell you how to turn the wrenches if need be
After you remove the Transmission oil pan. Just twist back and forth and push it out at the same time. I should come of.
Use an impact gun or secure flywheel when loosening crank bolt.
The test I always use to figure out if it's the battery or not is turn on the lights and try to turn over the car. If the lights go dim while your cranking the motor then it's probably the battery. If not you need to check the fuses and then call the warranty line to Nissan it may still be under warranty.
your alternator is not charging

The breake lights on a 2003 Chevy suburban come on when the car is not being uesed, becausethat is the way thay are made?
Should not. The crank sensor does not come in contact with the fuel nor the exhaust.
Next January... Or so they say...
