Answer:
A strange thing happens with people in The Bible... they either fall forwards... or backwards, when addressing God... depending upon their spiritual state of being.
Abraham revered his God and fell forward. Even though this particular passage has Abraham shocked to disbelief [resulting in a fit of reverent laughter], being told that he, as an old man, would have a son -- he still respected God, even when He uttered things absurd to human understanding.
In another instance... when Judas and his Satan-guided mob came to arrest Jesus... this is what happened:
"Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon Him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered Him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I AM HE. And Judas also, which betrayed Him, stood with them. As soon then as He had said unto them, I AM HE, THEY WENT BACKWARD, and FELL TO THE GROUND." (John 18:4-6)
So, if Abraham had to fall in some direction from the shock he had received to his spirit in that moment... of all people, He had to fall forward on his face... rather than backward.

Abraham did not sacrifice his son in "Things Fall Apart" because the story of Abraham and Isaac is a biblical tale that takes place in the Book of Genesis in the Bible. In "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe, there is no instance of Abraham sacrificing his son.

Sarah was 91 when Isaac was born. In Genesis 17:17 Sarah was promised she would have a child in a year at which time she was 90 years old. Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?"
It is not possible to say how anyone 'fell in love', it is a purely personal matter.
We know for a fact that Sarah at age of 90 had a child with her husband Abraham.Genesis 17:17 Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?"We also know that Elizabeth got pregnant with John the Baptist beyond her child bearing age but don't know here exact age. Elizabeth was described as being "very old" in Luke 1:7.Likewise, there is the story about the Shunammite's Son who Elisha restored to life. Elisha promised a kind "well-to-do" old woman she would become pregnant and give birth to a son (2 Kings 4:15) but her age is unknown.
