The first people to come to America were hired to do so for getting the resources America had like timber. The Colonists came around 75 years later.

∙ 12y agopeople from England didn't like their king so they came to America. when they got here they formed groups for living with each other they were called colinies. there were 13 colinies then the colinies grew into states and when Canada reilized they acted and did diffrent things the Americans did they made a border then America became it's own country.

∙ 13y agoThey didn't, at least not by admission or politically. By some definitions the the word the US is in deed an empire, but there is no reason behind it. It was not sought, it was just a result of success and political endeavors over a long time.
