∙ 13y agoMarc Antony went into hiding after Caesar's death because he didn't know if the assassins were after him or not. Caesar was not only dictator at the time of his death, but he was also one of the counsuls and Marc Antony was the other counsul. Antony didn't know if the conspirators were out to kill both counsuls or just Caesar. So he took the advise of his friends and headed for home until some of the turmoil died down and they could assess the situation.

∙ 11y agoAntony fled from the senate twice. The first time was during the lifetime of Julius Caesar when Antony was a tribune and tried to veto a senate resolution against Caesar. He was beaten by some members of the senate, which was against Roman law as a tribune was sancrosanct. He fled to Caesar. The second time was when Cicero succeeded in having him declared a public enemy.
