Why did Ash Wednesday fall on the same date in 1998 and 2004 when Easter fell on a different date in both years - how is this possible?

There was a one day difference for the Easter Sundays, the 12th of April 1998 and the 11th of April 2004. Ash Wednesday in both years was on the 25th of February. The one day difference is accounted for by the fact that 2004 was a leap year, so there was a 29th of February in it, pushing the date of Easter Sunday back.

∙ 9y ago2004 was a leap year and 1998 was not. So 46 days after 1998-02-25 was 1998-04-12, and 46 days after 2004-02-25 was 2004-04-11.
