Cape Foulwind, which is a headland on New Zealand's South Island, was originally named Rocky Cape when Abel Tasman sailed past in 1642. It was renamed Cape Foulwind by James Cook in 1769 because he experienced a "foul wind" when his ship Endeavour was blown some distance offshore from this point.
