According to Christian tradition, Jesus was crucified either 30 or 33 CE, yet the first gospel, Mark's Gospel, was not written until approximately 70 CE, and the other New Testament gospels were written much later.
The most widely quoted Christian explanation is probably that the reason the gospels were not written earlier was that the stories were carried in the heads of the various disciples. On this view, the gospels began to be written down when the disciples were becoming old and there was a need to commit the story of Jesus to paper before the disciples had died. At a time when few commoners lived beyond 50 years old, this risk would have been becoming acute because most or all of the surviving disciples would have been well over that age when even the first gospel was written.
At the other end of the spectrum is the view that the author of Mark's Gospel actually invented the person of Jesus of Nazareth. On this view, 'Mark' copied the names of some key people and some facts from the epistles of Paul and created a story that parallels the Homeric epics. Denis R MacDonald points to mimesis 'flags' that the author seems to have placed in Mark in order to point the alert reader to an appropriate passage in the Iliad or the Odyssey. Some scholars say that Paul seems to have been unaware that Jesus was a human who lived and died in Palestine in the recent past. Based on his episltes, Paul might have seen Jesus as a purely spiritual person or someone who had lived in the indeterminate past. If Jesus of Nazareth was a literary invention, the author of Mark might have been motivated to write the Gospel by the events surrounding the First Roman-Jewish War and the impending doom that he foresaw.
A centrist view is that there really was a preacher, Jesus of Nazareth, who really did live in Palestine in the first century, but that he did not perform miracles and was probably not crucified. On this view, the story of Jesus of Nazareth became embellished over time, until Mark wrote down what he had learnt form various oral sources.
yes the difference is that Jews still wait for the messiah and Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the messiah
This sentence was said by Jesus when He was Crucified and it was told to the thief crucified beside Him (on His right). It means that after the death of Jesus and the death of the thief crucified in His right, this thief will be with Jesus in the paradise as it is the place to which christians, good Christians, go after their death as a place to wait before the last day and after this day, good people will go from the paradise to the Eternal life with Jesus in the Heavens.Jesus said this to the thief crucified to His right because he accepted Jesus as a God and a Savior...

Jesus told them to stay awake and wait.
Christians and Muslims are very similar in many ways. They both worship the same God, Muslims just call Him Allah. One of the main differentiations is that Christians veiw Jesus as God, but Muslims don't. Of course, Jesus is still in the Quran, and is one of the prophets named there. His death is controversial between the two religions. The Christians say that Jesus was crucifed. Muslims say that while Jesus was being chased, he hid a room. A man caught up with him and directed the others who were chasing Jesus to that room. But before they arrived, God changed that man that ratted him out to look like Jesus, and lifted Jesus into the sky to wait until he should return to the Earth on Judgement Day. The man who now looks like Jesus was captured by the people originally chasing Jesus. HE was then crucified, and everyone beleived that that was Jesus himself. So basically, Christians believe that Jesus died, while Muslims believe that he was sent to heaven to wait there till Judgement Day, and was never killed.
Well, usually Christians paint of picture of heaven as a predict on clouds where everyone is an angel. But most know that when we die, we go to an area where we must wait for Judgment Day! The afterlife for humans will be either in the Lake of Fire of in Jesus 's kingdom here on Earth that will last a thousand years.
The previous day was the Sabbath, so they couldn't do any work that day.
How long do you have to wait before you can bath puppies?

Jesus did when he hung on the cross to die for you
There is life after death for not just Christians, but everybody in the entire world. Everybody, after you die, will go to judgment with God and there it is decided if you go to hell or heaven. But the only way you can get to heaven is if your name is in the book of life by being saved through God. Not works.
